Xenia Lee Wheeler worked for the Lord and Seventh Day Baptists in a variety of places. She began married life by helping her husband, a pastor, with evangelistic meetings. Through the years\u00a0 in whatever church she and her husband\u00a0 served she helped with Vacation Bible School, church camp, and Sabbath School where she helped with teacher training and served as a teacher and Sabbath School superintendent. She was and officer and an active committee member in local women’s societies, and active participant in Lord’s Acre projects and performed clerical duties.<\/p>\n

Her sister-in-law wrote, ‘she is a wonderful cook and homemaker, always welcoming guests and sharing with others.’<\/p>\n

In communities\u00a0 where she lived, she co-sponsored\u00a0 Christian education societies, and was active in PTA, Red Cross and 4-H clubs. She also volunteered in school libraries, meal preparation and service for those in need, as well in local Church Women United groups. Xenia organized and led Bible studies and homemaking skill lessons for community women.<\/p>\n

On the Association level Xenia served as an association officer, a women’s work officer, and as editor of the association newsletter.<\/p>\n

For the denomination she served as a Women’s Board officer and a representative to the North American Baptist Women’s Union and Church Women United. She helped write a history of local women’s society work and served on the board of the Seventh Day Baptists Missionary Society.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
