The summer of 2020 was different from any other in the history of SCSC. In late February\/early March an illness caused by the virus known as COVID-19 became a global pandemic, restricting travel and completely changing the structure of daily life for people across the globe. The SCSC program students had already been selected and had been making preparations for a summer of service away from home when it became apparent that this year a traditional SCSC program was not going to be possible. By the grace of God and through the innovation and hard work of the SCSC Committee, the SCSC training staff, and the SCSC students themselves a decision to commit to and carry out a summer of service virtually<\/em><\/strong> was made. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
